We are excited to have our beautification efforts at Bridge Park recognized as part of the 2016 Master Gardner’s Association of Genesee County annual Garden tour. The park and Butterfly Garden will be a featured tour stop on Sunday, June 26, 2016, where the park will be highlighted as the only public space on this year’s northern tier garden tour.
We expect up to 2,000 visitors to the BDA corridor and want to invite your business to join in our beautification efforts for this special day. We would like all our businesses to participate by displaying flowers or creating a special floral display or landscaping in front of your business property.
Earn Your Butterfly Wings
To support this effort, the BDA created a beautification contest with recognition plaques for the best displays as voted by garden tour participants. The contest has been named The Butterfly Wings contest.
Here’s how it works:
Businesses sign-up to participate by Wednesday, May 25th, 2016. Businesses create their beautification display
- To sign-up send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org / 810-686-3460 / or email email@example.com
- Use the term Butterfly Wings in the subject line
Garden tour participants will be provided a ballot at Bridge Park to vote on which businesses have the best displays
Businesses determine if they want to offer incentives for visitors to stop and vote for their display (coupon, free beverage etc.)
Tour participants will be invited to visit businesses to vote on their favorite display.
Garden tour participants who complete a ballot will be entered into a drawing for prizes from local businesses. Let us know if you would like to donate a prize for this drawing.
Recognition provided for the following three categories:
- Best of Show
- Most Creative
- Best use of Color (Pink, Lime, Purple, Fuchsia)
Numerous studies prove that planting flowers and enhancing beautification efforts in a business district increases business traffic. Please join us in promoting our local business district so together we can gain the maximum benefit from beautification efforts.
